Bridge demolition at Parker Road in Plano will shut down US 75 nightly from December 7-11
PLANO Texas Department of Transportation will close the U.S. 75 mainlanes at Parker Rd. in Plano nightly from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Sunday, Dec. 7, to Thursday, Dec. 11. The closures are necessary to ensure the safety of the traveling public, as well as the contractor, while demolition of the southern half of the existing Parker Rd. bridge takes place.
Nightly lane closures will take place on U.S. 75 at Parker Rd. and include:
Southbound U.S. 75 frontage roads closed Sunday, Dec. 7, to Monday, Dec. 8
Southbound U.S. 75 mainlanes closed Monday, Dec. 8, to Tuesday, Dec. 9
Northbound U.S. 75 mainlanes closed Tuesday, Dec. 9, to Wednesday, Dec. 10
Northbound U.S. 75 frontage roads closed Wednesday, Dec. 10, to Thursday, Dec. 11
The demolition is part of a $20 million construction project to convert the U.S. 75 and Parker Rd. interchange from a standard, grade-separated bridge to a single-point urban interchange (SPUI). Message boards announcing the lane closures have been placed along U.S. 75 to notify the public of the closures. Law enforcement will also be present to help with traffic control.
The estimated project completion is fall 2010.
