Guns N’ Roses guns for Plano-based Dr Pepper after soda giveaway goes way south

When some bubble-headed marketing genius at the Plano-headquartered Dr Pepper Company decided it would be a clever idea to offer a free soda to everyone in the country if Guns N' Roses actually released their long-awaited (semi-mythical) Chinese Democracy album this year, he probably thought that either a) it was a sure bet it wouldn't happen, or b) if it did, nothing could possibly go wrong with the pre-planned, carefully-thought-out promotion.
Um - WRONG!
It seems that - on the day people were supposed to go to the Dr Pepper website and claim their coupon for a free 20-ounce drink - the website malfunctioned. (Bummer, dude.)
Already, perhaps, unhappy that he and the band weren't consulted in regard to the promotion (kind of an unfortunate oversight there, eh, anonymous Dr Pepper marketing genius?), Axl Rose and his legal team are now quite incensed that their good name has been associated with a botched product giveaway scheme (Makes Guns N' Roses appear less cutting edge, in this unbiased bystander's opinion), going so far as to demand that the soft drink conglomerate print full-page apology ads in (print versions of) The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
In a surprise move which exists entirely in the imagination of this reporter, Mr. Rose went on to suggest that it would go a long way towards patching up their relationship if the company would come out with a bubbly, excrement-flavored beverage called Bon Jovi Sucks.

He/She was too busy playing with all the toys at Snapplecorp HQ..the marketing dept for Schweppes had toys and promotional stuff all over...and candy...terribly distracting even to a computer technician, much less a marketing puhfessional.
