Whole Foods Market in Dallas’ Lakewood district caught on fire on Friday

DALLAS — The Whole Foods Market that's currently under construction at Abrams and Gaston in the Lakewood district of Dallas caught on fire on Friday afternoon, which was caught on videotape by a viewer of NBC5, who proudly, dare I say gloatingly, have said video display on their Web site as we speak. Does having a fire while you're still under construction seem like a bad omen?

It is an intresting.. Omen,....... the Whole Foods to burn its cord before opening at Lakewood, while Old East Dallas as Lakewood is know for, has had its share of being carved up, torn down and burned dry, as I can recall over the years,and having worked there in the late 1970s, I do recall seeing some great themes of the area torn down, while a whole foodstore to burn....... lets look back at the Original whole foods, or the Hawthorp and Moran Whole Food store on Greenville ave in 1976, That is where the bean sprout and pachouli oil came from when I was young and it was hippie weird, later to become what we see today as the Real Green Food, then again why close the Greenville store, after 32 years of old hip and grunge to become another rodeo drive food concession stand..times change....and so do vendors and firemen who happend to see this is a big fire....for what, hot plastic food, oh well, sounds like an Omen to me, food clowns and cult figures who cut organics, oh well, it is 2008 and anything goes it seems these days,including brunt offerings and burnt organics, until then Alexander Troup, Food Historian.
