Heath City Council meets earlier than usual on Tues. (Oct. 7), due to Heath Night Out event

On the agenda are fireworks, storm sewers, fences and an Oncor slapdown.

In order to allow city councilfolk the opportunity to enjoy a night out with their families (and everybody else - it being, after all, the date of the annual Heath Night Out Event), the Heath City Council will meet earlier than usual on Tues., Oct. 7 - at 5:30 p.m., to be precise.

Before enjoying their night out, the councilpersons will be taking up the following matters:

* the advisability of waiving the fireworks permit fee for the homecoming celebration planned for Oct. 8 at Rockwall-Heath High School

* the City of Heath's support for Rockwall County Proposition One regarding the 2008 Road Bond Initiative (on the Nov. 4, 2008 Special Election Ballot)

* approval of a resolution on publication of a NOI (Notice of Intent) to Discharge from the municipal storm sewer system, and implementation of the Storm Water Management Program submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

* approval of an ordinance authorizing designated officers to enforce the city's code ordinances, along with federal and state laws; and authorizing the issuance of citations for violations thereof

* request for variance to a code ordinance allowing for construction of a wrought iron fence at 1316 Moraine Place

* approval of a resolution denying the rate increase proposed by Oncor Electric Delivery Company

Oncor: consider yourselves bitch-slapped.
