National Night Out events Tuesday to unite neighborhoods in fighting crime
Neighborhoods gather to take back the night. Will you be there?
This Tuesday, October 7, marks the 25th anniversary of National Night Out (NNO) in the DFW area. (All of the country except for Texas, celebrated NNO in August.)
According to Wikipedia, NNO "is a community-police partnership ... since 1984 and sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada. It aims to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, and other anti-crime efforts. Initially communities held lights-on vigils. Now, many communities hold block parties, festivals, and other events to help bring neighbors together."
We've got a listing of neighborhoods that we know of who are holding NNO events Tuesday. If you know of others, please submit 'em and we'll add 'em. And if you go, tell your neighbors to read and share neighborhood news here.

Travis Bush, says:
My whole neighborhood sucks. The only time you see more than one or two is at a garage sale or when there is a wreck on Wycliff. The rest of the time most of the are cloistered away in their overpriced town homes. I see more Highland Park cops than anything else..
