Tickets on sale for fifth annual Savor Dallas on March 6-7, 2009

16

— Tickets are now on sale for the fifth annual Savor Dallas, the unique wine and food extravaganza happening on Friday, March 6, 2009 and continuing through Saturday, March 7, 2009. For five years, Savor Dallas has promoted Dallas' international experience of wine, food, spirits and the arts, with stellar wine and food events scheduled in several beautiful Downtown Dallas locations.

On Friday March 6, the Savor Dallas Arts District Wine Stroll returns to the renowned Dallas Museum of Art in Seventeen Seventeen Restaurant, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. A Savor Dallas "Friday evening ticket" will also allow attendees to enjoy a Wine and Food Celebration in Victory Park's AT&T Plaza, including a film screening with AFI DALLAS (two great events with one ticket).

An art contest is a colorful way for Savor Dallas to raise funds for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in this year's event. Savor Dallas is sponsoring an art contest for the Junior Class art program in which talented Booker T. students are invited to submit their designs capturing the spirit of the event. The winning design will be put on a tee-shirt and sold during the festive fifth annual Savor Dallas celebration, with all profits from tee shirt sales given to Booker T. Washington High School. Contest winners also will receive a monetary prize, courtesy of Savor Dallas.

The students were invited to make their entries in September. Judging will take place by a special panel of community leaders in November and the winning artwork will be announced in early December. All of the entries will be displayed during Savor Dallas 2009.

Follow the fun on Saturday, March 7 when the highly anticipated "International Grand Tasting" returns to the beautiful Plaza of the Americas and Westin City Center Dallas (the official host hotel for Savor Dallas). More than 60 of North Texas' top chefs will showcase their signature recipes, along with over 500 premium wines, spirits and beers on three stunning tasting levels. The ultimate epicurean experience features vintners, artisan producers and purveyors from around the globe.

Other exciting North Texas events featuring celebrity chefs and vintners will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are on sale now at the Web site.

I believe DC is referring to our annual restaurant reviewing contest -- which is indeed about to start. Stay tuned to Square Pegs for details.

I'm just bummed that for the second year in a row I'm traveling during Savor Dallas weekend and unable to take advantage of sponsor access...

DC, You mystify and generate a glow of intelligence that is truly.....hidden, while I am out there,on the pavement, observing and have been today, the mud in the Arts District, and the work is shut down ,while I had worked events in that area for quite some time and it is my weakness to become.......a Citizen of care, or ........indiffrence...A/T, No wannabe for wet.

guess it's hard to tell what's just smack talk between friends and what's just being a jerk...seems like a lot of...putting people down and such on what I'm reading lately, which is kinda off topic. Not that I'm any better.

Oh, BGretzky do go easy on Loonz. I like that he's willing to put up some $$$ for a Lodge trip.

However, I will admit you confused me pretty well that time when you texted me about perogies. Like, WTF?
