Fort Worth city council — what? — rejects Chesapeake well permit
In a rare victory for the little man, the Fort Worth City Council voted 8-0 Tuesday night to deny Chesapeake Energy's request to drill a high-impact well along Eighth Avenue near Elizabeth Boulevard, the first time the city had turned down such a request. The council's decision was influenced by homeowners from what would have been the affected neighborhoods, who turned out in force to oppose the request.
