Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas named a “Best New Restaurant of 2008” by John Mariani
The Mansion Restaurant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek was named one of the Best New Restaurants of 2008 by John Mariani, food and travel correspondent for Esquire magazine. The "Best New Restaurants of 2008" guide will debut in the November issue, to hit newsstands Oct. 14.
Last year, you may recall, Mariani gave a nod to Fearing's at the Ritz-Carlton.
Since the 2007 makeover of the Mansion Restaurant, there are now distinct and different dining experiences including the main dining room, the Chef’s Room, the Chef’s Table, and the Chef's Shoe.
The Chef’s Room, once the library of the Sheppard King mansion, offers a more traditional fine-dining experience with prix-fixe and tasting menus. Recently reopened, the Chef’s Room’s new menu features delights from Chef Tesar’s summer European travels – highlighting Spanish, Italian and Mediterranean influences.
Within the Chef’s Room is the Chef’s Table, a private, no-holds-barred culinary stage for Chef Tesar to delight guests with whatever they wish. Chef Tesar creates a menu according to guests’ tastes and whims.
And within the Chef's Table is the Chef's Shoe, an ultra-exclusive dining experience for solo-diners-only that specializes in amuse bouches, tapas, and other miniscule bites.

The Chef's Shoe? I'm afraid to know what "ultra-exclusive" will cost, when three courses on the less exclusive Chef's Room menu cost $120 and the tasting menus run up to $165. Can Pegasus News send TG to try on the Shoe and report back?
