Tasting event on October 23 to kick off official grand opening of Watters Creek in Allen

ALLEN — With so many restaurants to choose from at the new shopping and dining destination, Watters Creek, it can be difficult to pick a favorite. So don’t. The first annual "Taste of Watters Creek" will feature the best of a dozen dining and specialty food locations as well as wines from around the world to complement the cuisine.

The event will be Thursday, Oct. 23, from 6:30-9 p.m. on the Village Green and will serve as the kickoff to the Watters Creek grand opening weekend celebration. Tickets are $50 per person and $90 per couple in advance; $60 per person at the door, if available, with net proceeds going to benefit Collin County Meals on Wheels.

Guests will enjoy a casual, leisurely evening with live music and a selection of complementary wines as they sample appetizers, entrées and desserts from an international menu provided by Brio Tuscan Grill, Celebrity Café and Bakery, Crú – A Wine Bar, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, Market Street, Mi Cocina, NAAN Korean Grill and Sushi Bar, P.F. Chang’s, Paciugo, The Cheesecake Factory, Woodlands American Grill, and Borders.

Appetizer and entrée highlights include American Kobe brisket sliders from Woodlands, crab cakes and lamb meatballs from Crú, shrimp tempura roll and spicy pork from NAAN, quesadillas and tacos al carbon from Mi Cocina, and almond cashew chicken over rice from P.F. Chang’s. But those with a sweet tooth will be happy as well with options such as petit fours from Celebrity Café and Bakery, pumpkin loaf and flavored coffees from Borders, and Paciugo gelato.

Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, a 52-acre resort-style mixed-use development located at U.S. 75 and Bethany Drive, features the large creekside Village Green; interactive public art; a variety of retail options; restaurants with al fresco dining; 80,000 sf of office space and 233 high-end residential lofts.
