Plano Police Department investigates murder as a result of a stabbing
PLANO On Oct. 12, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a 911 call regarding a possible stabbing in the 3100 block of Independence Parkway in the parking lot of Lone Star Comics.
Upon officers arrival, it was determined that the victim had been transported by the suspect to the Medical Center of Plano for treatment. The victim has been identified as Max L. Brustein, a 17-year-old male of Plano. Brustein was pronounced dead at approximately 6 a.m. due to a single stab wound to the chest.
The suspect has been identified as Joshua Torres, a 19-year-old male from Richardson. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the city of Plano Jail and has been charged with murder.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
