Tanker truck crashes, closes Highway 175 in Dallas
A tanker truck carrying fuel crashed on Highway 175 at a point known as Dead Man's Corner Sunday afternoon, resulting in a huge fire that destroyed part of the bridge at the intersecting Highway 310, resulting in lane closures on both highways that remained in effect Monday morning. The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.
Dead Man's Corner, as one could imagine from the name, has been a source of controversy for years. It's scheduled to be remodeled as part of the Trinity Parkway project, but some are calling for changes to be made as soon as possible. It even looks dangerous on a map (click the left arrow once to check out the point where Highway 175 (Hawn Fwy) meets Highway 310 on the left side of the map):
