League of Women Voters releases voters guides for Arlington and Tarrant County

The League of Women Voters of Arlington and Tarrant County have prepared nonpartisan Voters Guides for the November 4, 2008 General Election. The Voters Guides include statements by candidates running for presidential, congressional, senatorial, state, judicial, county and district offices. In addition, the guides contain voting information and polling locations.

“Know the candidates before you vote,” said Tonya Presley, President of the Arlington League, “and read their positions in their own words. Early voting starts on October 20 and continues through October 31” she noted. “And eligible voters have until October 28 to apply for a ballot by mail.”

The free, nonpartisan Voters Guides will be available on October 14 throughout Tarrant County at the following locations: public libraries; community centers; Half-Price Book stores including Arlington, Bedford, Burleson, Fort Worth, and Watauga. In addition, the guides can be downloaded from the internet at www.lwvarlington-tx.org and www.lwvtarrantcounty.org.
