Catholics outnumber Methodists at SMU
So should we call it Southern Catholic University now? In what should finally disprove that a name has anything to do with the types of students there, Southern Methodist University officially has more Catholic students than Methodist ones, at least among those who chose to respond to a survey about what they believe.
The survey tally is 1,425 Catholics to 1,237 Methodists, which means Catholics now make up about 25% of the students at the university.
