Rapist near Love Field area of Dallas arrested
DALLAS — Mariano Cervantes, 20, was arrested for sexual assault near a home where one of three rapes he's accused of committing. On Aug. 12, Aug. 25, and Sept. 20, three women were approached by a man, forced inside a car at gunpoint, and raped. They described his car as purple or lavender with primer on the side, as well as tattoos that Cervantes has.
Big points to Dallas police Senior Cpl. Judy Fries, who spotted a car matching the description parked in a driveway in the 2600 block of Roanoke Avenue, right near where one of the rapes occurred. He appears to have had a crack cocaine problem.
