  • It earned $28.6 million in food and ride coupons, the second-highest ever after last year's $29 million record.
  • Sales on October 11, the day of the Texas-Oklahoma game, reached an all-time high of $2,835,000.
  • Food sold well but non-edible items tanked; one vendor said her sales were down 30%
  • The two big food draws were chicken-fried bacon which sold more than 400 cases or $200,000; and the fried banana split, which sold at least $50,000. Fletcher's sold 600,000 corny dogs, which is about average.
  • The Domino Man attracted more than 72,000 visitors.
  • The livestock auction had a record-breaking sale: $95,000 for the grand champion steer.

I could go for some chicken fried bacon right about now. Topped off with some fried cookie dough and a root beer to wash it down with.
