2008 State Fair of Texas over already, wow

DALLAS — The 2008 State Fair of Texas ended this weekend, and this story has a few good statistics.

Chicken-fried bacon with ranch dressing from the 2008 State Fair of Texas

It earned $28.6 million in food and ride coupons, the second-highest ever after last year's $29 million record.
Sales on October 11, the day of the Texas-Oklahoma game, reached an all-time high of $2,835,000.
Food sold well but non-edible items tanked; one vendor said her sales were down 30%
The two big food draws were chicken-fried bacon which sold more than 400 cases or $200,000; and the fried banana split, which sold at least $50,000. Fletcher's sold 600,000 corny dogs, which is about average.
The Domino Man attracted more than 72,000 visitors.
The livestock auction had a record-breaking sale: $95,000 for the grand champion steer.

Yes that was a great State Fair, better then the Old King Tut, where I felt micro waved by that event,at least at the Fair,people were bringing out their Piggey Banks,oh well that was the Great State Fair of Texas, 1886 to 2008,until then and next year........... Alex Troup..H.2,O
