Tarrant County Homeless Coalition to connect volunteers with homeless
The free event will introduce the community to the challenges of what it means to be homeless.
The Tarrant County Homeless Coalition presents its first Volunteer CONNECT event on Wednesday, October 22 to connect the community to help the homeless. This free information fair will feature over 60 homeless prevention and homeless service providers presenting countless ways that the community can volunteer and give in the effort to end chronic homelessness in Tarrant County. Volunteer CONNECT will occur between 4-8 p.m. at the University Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Fort Worth. The community is invited to come and go throughout the evening.
The free event will introduce the community to the challenges of what it means to be homeless. Mini-workshops will be offered on homelessness, poverty, hunger, unemployment and how to interact with the homeless. Attendees will come away with an understanding of what approximately 6,300 persons will experience in Tarrant County this year and learn what is being done to make homelessness a rare, short-term and non-recurring experience.
