Latest in an ongoing series of dispatches from the student journalists at Coppell High School's KCBY TV:
Dallas, TX (October 7, 2008) – KCBY-TV, the broadcast news program at Coppell High School, recently interviewed Mark Wahlberg, who walked the red carpet in order to promote his new film Max Payne. This movie is based on the popular Rockstar videogame also called “Max Payne”. Mark Wahlberg plays a DEA agent who teams up with an assassin to avenge his family, while solving a string of murders in New York City. Also attending this promotional event was renowned rapper turned actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. KCBY program director, Alexis Talley, the reporter for this special event, stood amongst various local media professionals on the red carpet. Gianluca Cuestas was the videographer for this event and Hannah Gill was the producer.
KCBY airs a weekly 20 minute show for 6000 students and teachers at Coppell High School and all three middle schools. Students inform and entertain by producing segments about events and issues that occur in the area. Last year, KCBY launched a sister show called KCBY Español. The biweekly show produces segments in Spanish, providing Spanish speakers with training for careers in Spanish language media, while serving as an educational tool for the Spanish classes.
