Mesquite ISD cleans up its school bus fleet, resulting in fewer emissions
Other North Texas school systems are now hopping onto the Enviro-Kleen green-machine bandwagon.
Using a process called Enviro-Kleen, the Mesquite Independent School District has attracted the attention of neighboring ISDs which operate diesel-powered buses, thanks to the successful greening-up of their bus fleet.
Credit MISD fleet supervisor Keith McCollum for the environmentally-friendly fixing up of Mesquite's school buses. After an incident involving a smoke-billowing garbage truck, he decided to see what he could do about fixing up the exhaust problem, and thus was born his proprietary process (involving a chemical he formulated in his garage workshop).
Here's a YouTube video produced by MISD in which Keith details the story behind his process.
