AllGood Cafe screens Cotton Candy

  • When: Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, 8 p.m.
  • Where: AllGood Cafe, 2934 Main Street, Dallas
  • Cost: $5
  • Age limit: Not available

This off-the-wall event note from Dallas DJ Mark Ridlen:

Tonight (Oct. 29) at 8 p.m. at the All Good Cafe, there will be a special screening of what sounds to me like a bootleg recording of a never-released-commercially Ron Howard movie called Cotton Candy (starring Charles Martin Smith and Clint Howard), which - says Mark - he appeared in, along with members of his 1978-vintage band. (He "weighed 118 lbs. and sported an afro" back in the day, says Mark.)

The film to be screened - reportedly taped straight from the tube - is replete with (it says here) "hilarious" local commercials.

As long as a fella (or gal) could get hold of a beer - which I'm betting they could - this sounds like a pretty dang fun and unusual event.

Donations of $5 are encouraged.
