Mesquite ISD schools open again after bank robbery and shooting forces morning lockdown
Robber shoots once, hits two unarmed women. What an accomplishment.
This morning (Oct. 31) at about 9:30 a.m., a bank robbery at the Compass Bank branch at 3100 N. Galloway resulted in the lockdown of ten Mesquite ISD schools as a precautionary measure.
The bandit - a black male of average build in his early 30s, who wore a backpack, black cap, black shirt, black pants, and had a bandage on his nose - wielded a chrome-plated handgun with either chilling disregard for the welfare of those around him, or a level of expert marksmanship that ended with him striking two women with one shot (one in the leg, the other in the head - though thankfully only as a grazing wound).
The schools that were locked down reopened around noontime; the bandit is still at large.
