News of actual North Texas earthquakes make this morning’s metro shift far less boring
Having just written up a blurb about Fred Baron passing away and then discovering that someone else on staff had beaten me to it, I scrambled around looking for another story worth posting and discovered that the earth actually moved here overnight.
The U.S. Geological Survey (and we don't hear from them very much here in North Texas) reports that two minor earthquakes shook DFW, the first (measuring a hearty 2.5 on the Richter Scale) at 11:25 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 30) and the second (measuring 3.0) occurring at 12:01 a.m. this morning (Oct. 31).
Both quakes were centered in the mid-cities, the first in Grand Prairie and the second in Irving. And I slept right through it.
