Anthony Hopkins will (potentially) creep you out with his original symphonic compositions, as performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra

3

This one crosses categorical boundaries like a big dog - and I'm talkin' a big, slavering, liver eatin' dog.

Anthony Hopkins (aka Sir Anthony Hopkins, aka Hannibal Lecter) is coming to the Meyerson on Oct. 17, and not as some kind of celebrity guest.

He'll be the star of the show, as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra puts on an evening of performances featuring some of his original compositions. (Who knew he even had any?) Along with Hopkins' original music, the DSO will offer up symphonic versions of scores from some of the great actor's film work, including - of course - Jonathan Demme's Silence of the Lambs.

Also on the program are themes from Hannibal, Shadowlands and a number of others.

Mr. Hopkins (or Sir Anthony, if you prefer - and especially if HE prefers) will be on hand to introduce the selections, some of which will be accompanied by film footage projected onto the big screen.

Original artwork by Hopkins (is there NOTHING this man can't do?) will be on display in the Meyerson lobby.

That's a great picture of him on the left. He is very photogenic and goes without saying, a fantastic actor.

I think him being knighted was a better choice than some of them they knight. I like all his movies. Nope, nothing sarcastic here.
