Texas ZestFest 2008 in Fort Worth Sept. 5-7 promises to be spicy
Three-day competition is designed for fiery food lovers.
FORT WORTH Texas ZestFest 2008 is the three-day food competition for fiery food lovers, taking place in the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth on September 5-7.
The main stage will feature cooking demonstrations from local celebrity chefs including Jon Bonnell, Lou Lambert, Grady Spears, and many more; live entertainment by local musicians; and events such as the Culinary School Salsa Cook-Off Challenge and the Jalapeño Eating Contest, which is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday.
Promising to make this its hottest food festival and competition yet, Texas ZestFest 2008 has joined with the Tarrant Area Food Bank during September’s Hunger Awareness Month to raise awareness and serve as an official drop-off location for canned goods and donations at Will Rogers Memorial Center. Tickets are only $10 and are available at the doors; children under 4 years are free.
On Friday, the festival runs from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
On Saturday, it starts at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.
Sunday, it begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
The whole family can taste the zestiest products on the market, from salsa and hot sauce, to popcorn and chocolate. Guests will enjoy hot food, live music, Q & A’s from top chefs, as well as help support the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Any idea when the jalapeno eating contest is? I want to see that! I can't find a schedule of events anywhere on their sites.

Hm, I might come out to this on Sunday. If nothing else, watching people eat spicy food is always hillarious.
