Beginning on Fri., Sept. 5, the locally filmed and produced outlaw-bikers-from-Hell actioner Exit Speed begins a one-week limited run at the AMC Grand in Dallas (I-35 & NW Hwy.).
On opening night, Everett Sifuentes - one of the film's stars - will be there in person to sign autographs and pose for pictures, which will undoubtedly turn out better than the one included in the promotional flyer.
(They should have used the far more flattering photo we snapped of Everett during his recent red carpet appearance at the film's world premiere.)
In the movie, Sifuentes plays a monolingual Spanish-speaking fellow named Vargas who turns out to have an affinity for improvised munitions design and construction - much to the delight of his forted-up fellow innocent bystanders, who speak only English and thus are initially rather puzzled about his eccentric workshop project.
Texas native Everett has previously appeared in Walker, Texas Ranger and The Return of Josey Wales; he has two films in post production, including another one for Sabbatical Pictures - the production company behind Exit Speed - called The Beacon.

Did the Sifuentes Family grow-up here in Dallas? Does anyone know?

Russ, Everett was born in Austin and lived in Dallas for 35 years. He was a pharmacist during his time here in Dallas. He and his wife were planning to retire to Austin, but decided to settle in Georgetown. Everett has family in Austin, Georgetown and Dallas.

Do you mean Everett and his wife and their children? I know they all spent many, many years in Dallas.
Or Everett's brothers and sisters? He has at least one brother still living here.

Upper, I'm relating information provided directly from the film's publicist, who spoke with Everett on the phone in response to Russ' initial query. Sounds like you know the family personally.
Anyhow, I thought Mr. Sifuentes' character was one of the most interesting ones in the movie, and he turned in a marvelous performance. Great to see local folks on the big screen.
