UPDATEDX2: Dallas police officer hits tree, sustains injuries in high-speed chase
Another officer drove into a ditch.
DALLAS A police chase that started in Lake Highlands in Dallas ended up with one officer hitting a tree and sustaining injuries and another driving into a ditch.
A woman called 911 to report that her ex-boyfriend was trying to get inside the security gates at her Oakwood Creek Condo in the 7900 block of Skillman Street. When the cops arrived, he sped off, crashing into both cars. It turned into a crazy high-speed chase with one officer hitting a tree and another driving into a ditch. The suspect split on foot and was captured.
UPDATE: Christopher Cordray, the officer who hit the tree, underwent ankle and knee surgery on Sunday, and will have hip surgery today.
UPDATE PART DEUX: DPD Chief David Kunkle has announced he'll appoint a review commission to look into the circumstances of the high-speed chase, to determine whether department policy was adhered to.

Except in Smokey and the Bandit, they didn't show the injured going to the hospital and having to go through physical therapy.
