Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center groundbreaking set for Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
FARMERS BRANCH Officially starting construction for the new Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center, ground will be broken in ceremonies at the new shelter site at 3727 Valley View Lane on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
The new state-of-the-art facility will be constructed just east of the Justice Center, near the corner of Valley View and Marsh. The new Center will have capacity to concurrently house up to 37 dogs and 31 cats, compared to 8 dogs and 22 cats at the current shelter. An interior “Get-to-Know” room and an outdoor “Get-to-Know” courtyard will enable prospective pet owners to become acquainted with their future pets on-site, prior to completing the adoption process.
The projected grand opening will be held in the spring of 2009.
