This just in (as of Monday evening, Sept. 8) from the AFI Dallas International Film Festival: they're hiring.
Specifically, they're looking for a Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator, to provide support to the Marketing and Sponsorship departments while ensuring that projects remain on track, communications are effective and efficient (always a useful thing) and that plans are executed with attention to detail.
Here's the details, directly from their job posting:
POSITION: Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Sponsorship
HIRE DATE: ASAP
SALARY RANGE: $27,000-31,000
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Marketing and Associate Director of Sponsorship
WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Sponsors, Sponsorship Assistant, Sponsorship Producer, Managing Director, CEO, Executive Assistant to the CEO, Press & Publicity Department
JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS
Provide administrative support for the Marketing and Sponsorship departments, including, but not limited to:
• Coordinate design and print “traffic”, including routing and updating of all projects, between department and various constituents, including Sponsors, printers, designers, et al;
• In coordination with Associate Director of Marketing and media consultant, submit all ads (print, radio, television) to the appropriate media outlet in a timely manner based on the provided media schedule by sending proper insertion orders with appropriate spot/ad rotation schedule;
• Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Sponsorship, oversee the capturing and logging of year-round AFI DALLAS and Sponsor impressions and update wrap binders with required back-up documentation;
• Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Sponsorship, track, log, clip and scan year-round and Festival Press mentions for use in the annual Best of Press report;
• With the Associate Director of Sponsorship, prepare post-Festival reports and binders to be distributed to all Sponsors;
• Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Marketing, monitor VMS reports and order footage directly from the appropriate media outlet or download from in-house digital recorder, logging these impressions and media value in the wrap report;
• Pull tearsheets, print screen captures and order extra copies of publications for all advertising;
• Assist the Sponsorship, Marketing and the Press Department with the filing and tagging of Sponsorship photos;
• Keep financial records and forms of all marketing/ promotional materials, including purchase orders, invoices, expense reports, etc.;
• Assist with the creation of Sponsorship and Marketing policies and procedures;
• Assist with relevant tasks as determined by the Sponsorship and Marketing team;
• Provide administrative, clerical support as needed, including upkeep of database.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Superior organizational skills required.
• Professional demeanor and ability to successfully deal with professional and executive business people representing every organizational level required.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in proofreading, task prioritizing and task management required.
• Superior research and investigative skills required.
• Strong computer skills required, including but not limited to all Microsoft Office programs, FTP processes, basic understanding of print/ digital spec requirements.
• The ability to work independently, take initiative and be proactive without instruction or constant guidance required.
• Experience on or interacting with a creative services team and/or web design team (graphic design, advertising, proofreading and production) preferred.
