Fort Worth education charity receives gift from NBC Universal Foundation
NBC Universal Foundation recently awarded Score A Goal In The Classroom School Incentive Program a $25,000 grant to support its Success Rallies and Stay in School programs for the 2008 - 2009 school year. The Fort Worth-based nonprofit presently serves 540,000 students in 39 public school districts and 35 private schools across North Texas.
This year NBC Universal Foundation plans to award $1.2 million to deserving nonprofit organizations in six U.S. metropolitan areas, including Dallas/Fort Worth.
“NBC Universal is committed to giving back to our community,” said Jeff Zucker, president and CEO of NBC Universal. “These funds will support organizations that are making great strides toward improving secondary education, and it gives me great pleasure to support them both financially and through the volunteer efforts of our employees.”
Score A Goal In The Classroom is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt educational incentive program designed to encourage and motivate students, kindergarten through 12th grade, with positive rewards and an opportunity to raise grades, achieve better attendance and become more responsible citizens.
