The Boardroom is now open in Dallas’ Victory Park

It's a martini lounge and sports bar with 20+ hi-def flat-screen plasma TVs and a "whimsical" American menu.

Different kind of board room but you get the idea.
Different kind of board room but you get the idea.

The Boardroom, which its Los Angeles-based owner The Dolce Group describes as "a martini lounge/sports bar that will also serve a first class contemporary menu," opened last week at 2990 Olive Street in Victory Park.

The Dolce Group operates concepts in Atlanta, Huntsville, Los Angeles, and Reno that include Bella, The Boardroom, Dolce Enoteca, Geisha House, Ketchup, Les Deux, Rare 120, and Ten Pin Alley.

Their totally awesome publicist sent along a custom-made press release, on request, as follows. She was so nice and accommodating about it that it'll get reprinted here -- entirely devoid of sarcastic remarks!

The Boardroom is The Dolce Group’s stylish, sophisticated spin on the classic sports bar concept. Located in the heart of Dallas’ Victory Park development, The Boardroom combines a whimsical American menu with an extensive beer and wine list, fun cocktail list, flawless service, and entertaining atmosphere. With strategically placed plasma televisions showcasing a wide variety of sporting events, patrons of The Boardroom can enjoy classic and contemporary American cuisine while chatting with friends in intimate areas or watching the game of their choice.

iCrave Design Studio, the established, vibrant design firm behind some of the world’s most sought after venues around the world have created multiple lounge and bar areas within The Boardroom, providing environments accented by gleaming exotic wood finishes and brushed stainless steel. There are over 20 large, high definition plasma televisions throughout The Boardroom, ranging in size from 42 inches to 63 inches. These televisions can be tuned to the game of a patron’s choice, creating multiple opportunities for game viewing of all types of sporting events – everything from college football to professional basketball, international soccer games, and boxing matches live from Las Vegas. The large projector screens behind the bar at The Boardroom are 115’’ each, and seating around the restaurant comes equipped with personal sound systems that can be used to listen to an audio feed from the television of a patron’s choice.

Executive Chef Don Diem developed the inventive American menu at The Boardroom, playfully naming each part of the menu with business terminology. The “Preliminary Discussions”, or appetizers, open the menu and include such standouts as: Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers with a fresh mango dipping sauce; the Take a Dip platter of fries and tobacco onion ringlets, with warm blue cheese and homemade ketchup; Pulled Chicken Mini Tacos with sweet corn and pineapple salsa and many more exiting appetizers to kick off an evening at The Boardroom.

The “Sunk Costs” menu of soups include Bison-Black Bean Chili, served with The Boardroom’s take on traditional chili fixings: queso blanco, sour cream and green onions. Other soups: Potato-Beer-Cheese Soup and Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup, with sweet corn and harvest vegetables. “Light Negotiations” compliment the soup and appetizer lists and offer healthy options for health-conscious patrons of The Boardroom. The Texas Chef salad is a twist on a Buffalo Chicken salad – served with greens, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, bbq chicken and homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. The Seared Tuna Nicoise is zesty and flavorful, with a wasabi-tomato vinaigrette. Other salads include a classic Caesar bowl, and a BBQ Skirt Steak option.

The Boardroom’s “Great Mergers” include burgers and sandwiches such as the humorous Steak `n Whiz: mushrooms, hot peppers, cheese whiz, on a crusty Philadelphia hoagie roll; a Blue Cornmeal encrusted Grouper Po’ Boy; the Cuban Burger with smoked ham, melted swiss, pickles and Dijon-garlic mayo; and the Happy Thanksgiving, served year-round, with hot roasted turkey, crispy bacon, and champagne-cranberry sauce. A selection of classic pizzas also add more options to The Boardroom’s imaginative menu.

The main dishes menu at The Boardroom promise to satisfy hungry and powerful diners with the “Captains of Industry”. These items include a Cedar Plank Salmon with grapefruit-citrus slaw and pink grapefruit vinaigrette; Butterscotch Shrimp linguine with candied garlic and forest mushrooms; Bacon-Wrapped Scallops with lobster mash and brown butter; Seared Yellowfin Tuna with fennel-cucumber salad and tear drop tomatoes; and a signature Boardroom standout: Rum & Coca Cola glazed ribs with smoked tomato grits and collard greens. For the more traditional appetite, The Boardroom serves up a Bone-In Cowboy Steak, dry rubbed with customary Texas spices.

To complete your perfect meal at The Boardroom, Chef Don Diem presents the “Deal Closers”. Strawberry Shortcake with lemon pudding and chocolate dipped strawberries; the exquisite Almond-Toffee Waffles with dulce de leche ice cream; White Chocolate and Raspberry Milk Shake with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies; the tasty Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae with vanilla gelato, roasted nuts, fresh whipped cream and berries and the lovely Mini Chocolate Pie with fresh caramel, oreo cookie crust, chocolate gelato. Caramelized Banana Enchiladas are also a crowd favorite: fresh strawberries, warm chocolate and raspberry sauces, dusted with toasted hazelnuts.

The beer and wine list is extensive, offering multiple varietals of domestic and international wines, and almost 20 brands of beer, on tap or bottled. The cocktail list is extensive, with flirtatiously-named libations for every taste.

Two things pop right up:

1) If Executive Chef Don Diem changed his first name to 'Carpe' the PR would be oh, soooo complete.

2) I can hardly wait to go there with my little TV-B-Gone during a Cowboys game. http://www.amazon.com/TV-B-Gone-Unive...
