Kitchen Dog Theater kicks off its 18th season of theater with the Dallas premiere of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh. With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.
The production will be directed by KDT Artistic Company Members Jonathan Taylor and Christina Vela and will feature an outstanding ensemble of KDT Artistic Company Members Cameron Cobb, Michael Federico, Ian Leson and Lee Trull as well as Catherine DuBord, Jim Kuenzer, Rebekah Kennedy, and Manon McCollum.
The show runs from September 12 - October 11 and pay-what-you-can is available to the first 25 patrons on Wednesdays (September 24 and October 8) and Thursdays (September 18 and 25 and October 2 and 9). Call 214-953-1055 for tickets or purchase online.
