Carrollton opens new Employee Health Clinic
CARROLLTON The City of Carrollton will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and general open house for a new Employee Health Clinic (2150 Josey Lane, Suite 200-A) on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 4:45 p.m.
The City of Carrollton contracted with CareATC to manage a City Employee Health Clinic. The contract included CareATC leasing the Health Clinic site, contracting and supervising the remodeling of the site and hiring the physician. Carrollton City Council approved the Health Clinic on July 1, 2008.
“The vision behind the Health Clinic was to enable employees, retirees, and their dependents greater access to quality healthcare while also enabling the city and employees to better manage future health care costs,” commented City of Carrollton Workforce Services Director, Erin Rinehart. “We are anticipating that allowing free access to the Health Clinic, a convenient location, ability to see a physician at scheduled appointment times and allowing four hours of paid time for employees to access the clinic will lead to increased doctor-patient relationships, increased focus on preventative care, compliance with physician-recommended treatments and reduced time off work.”
“This approach to primary care is a win-win for both employees/retirees and the city, as there will be reduced claims and long-term health care costs, said Tom Rogers, Director of Business Development for CareATC. "We’re working to increase health awareness and ensure a healthier and happier workforce,” .
