Haltom City and Arlington chiropractors part of faked car accident fraud
Minh Huynh of Arlington and Thien Tuan Vo of Haltom City were indicted for their alleged roles in a staged-accident ring. Patients would hire lawyers, also part of the ring, to file insurance claims on their behalf indicating that the patients had been in a car accident. They would then "refer" these people to Huynh and Vo, who would create false billing records.
If convicted, the chiropractors face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for healthcare fraud. Huynh could receive an additional 20 years and $250,000 for mail fraud. Thus far, 27 people have been convicted in the ring, including 22 "accident victims" and a legal assistant. The name of the law firm involved has not yet been released.
