Jose Heriberto Castro sentenced to life without parole for 2006 murder
On Friday, Jose Heriberto Castro received a sentence of life without parole. He was recently convicted in the December 2006 murder of Karen Kristina Lafon, a state employee. While Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins planned to seek the death penalty, despite his own reservations concerning the punishment, Lafon's family insisted that the deceased would not have wanted Castro's death.
