UPDATED: Judge issues restraining order putting Farmers Branch rental ban on hold
Updated 10:02 p.m., September 22, 2008
Farmers Branch had planned to put its immigrant rental ban into effect on Monday, but a restraining order has put the temporary kibosh on implementation. U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle issued the order while the courts handle discrimination lawsuits brought on by the immigration ordinance.
UPDATE: Judge Boyle is fast-tracking the legal challenges by putting an October 29 deadline on any motions. Both sides have agreed to begin any trial by December 8.
