Fort Worth continues discussions on laying pipe

The Fort Worth City Council meeting will take place at at 10 am Tuesday. Here are some of the highlights:

  • There will be a budget hearing for the fiscal year of 2008-09, complete with a report by the city staff and citizen presentations.
  • The council will be making resolutions for a property tax revenue increase, approving the 2008-09 budget for D/FW International Airport, and for an appointment to the mayor's Advisory Task Force on Quality Affordable Housing.
  • They will also be accepting a disaster relief grant from the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA.
  • This week the city is buying: liquid polymers for the water department, a portable radio tower on wheels and (also for the water department) a cargo van.
  • The city is continuing the discussion to award multiple contracts to Texas Midstream to lay more gas pipelines.
  • The council will also be awarding contracts to a laundry list of companies for general city upkeep (ie: pavement reconstruction and water and sanitary sewer main replacements, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, etc).
