Heath City Council meets to discuss false alarms, annual budgets

Also up for discussion will be jurisdictional boundary considerations involving neighboring Rockwall.

When the Heath City Council meets for a work session on Tues., Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. (in City Hall), they'll first hear committee reports from those departments and committees which actually have anything worthy of reporting, to potentially include briefings delivered by Planning and Zoning, Board of Adjustment, the Park Board, the Special Events Board and the Department of Public Safety.

Then they'll move on to the meat of the work agenda, which includes discussion and possible action on:

* residential and commercial fire and security alarms, including discussion of excessive false reports and annual registration issues

* approval of budgets for the current and future fiscal years

* property tax increase proposal for next fiscal year (beginning Oct. 1)

* the levying of ad velorum taxes

* joint election agreements with Rockwall County

* rate adjustment for charges pending to IESI TX Corp. for collection, hauling and disposal of municipal, construction and demolition waste materials

* the lease agreement with NetportUSA

Various board and commission appointments are also on the agenda.
