More than 3,000 evacuees from Hurricane Ike waiting in Dallas area to return to homes
More than 3,000 evacuees from Hurricane Ike were still hanging out in Dallas-Fort-Worth-area shelters on Saturday night, waiting to find out when they could go home. The largest number -- 1,200 -- were at the convention center. Some got restless and started heading back. Most shelters offered cots, communal dining tables, and three meals a day.
