Dallas Cowboys 41, Philadelphia Eagles 37

In a game that took second for most points scored in a Monday Night Football first half (yeah, that's a statistic), the Cowboys took advantage of some late mistakes by the Eagles for the win.

The Eagles quickly opened scoring with a 34-yard field goal. Tony Romo answered by finding Terrell Owens on a 72-yard pass, the longest of the QB's career. But his promising pass was followed up by a fumble in the second quarter, giving the Eagles two touchdowns within 14 seconds of each other. Another Owens touchdown, a Philadelphia touchdown (Brian Westbrook), and a couple field goals, put the game at 30-24 at the half.

In the third quarter Dallas would go up by one on a 17-yard pass to Marion Barber, but would lose the lead again when Westbrook converted on the one-yarder. Folk followed by scoring his second field goal with 10:29 left. Then in their ensuing drive, Donovan McNabb and Westbrook fumbled a handoff, turning the ball over to the Cowboys who took their chance and ran with it.

Despite the second half quibbles, Romo turned in a great performance, going 21 for 30 for 312 yards. McNabb, whom a few critics think may be getting too old, went 25 for 37 for 280 yards. Felix Jones got his second touchdown in his second NFL regular season game with a 98-yard kickoff return in the first quarter.

Oh yeah, don't forget that time in the game when Eagles receiver Desean Jackson lost his touchdown attempt for flicking a ball away in celebration before he actually crossed into the end zone. Yeah, that was funny. Then it reminded me of Super Bowl XXVII when Leon Lett did something very similar and cost the 'Boys a Super Bowl scoring record and it made me sad.
