TCC Northeast Playhouse is back in full gear and has announced the shows for their next two semesters. Tickets are free to all TCC students and faculty, $3 for students under 18 or from other institutions of higher education and senior citizens 65 or over and $6 for the general public. All shows are general admission seating and tickets can be reserved by calling the Box Office at 817-515-6687. Here is the lineup:

  • True West by Sam Shepard. From October 8-11, 2008. The play is about two brothers: Austin is an ambitious Hollywood screenwriter working on a potential million-dollar deal when an ill wind off the desert blows in Lee, a hobo thief with a six-pack and a case of sibling rivalry. The conflict arises when a film producer offers Lee to write a "true" western. In a role reversal as intricate as it is riveting, the brothers head toward Shepard's outrageous version of the Western movie showdown.
  • Scrooge and the Three Ghosts. A Children's Outreach Free Musical. Performances for area elementary schools by appointment and a public performance November 14th at 7 p.m.
  • Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. From December 3-6, 2008. Brother and sister Viola and Sebastian, who are not only very close but look a great deal alike, are in a shipwreck, and both think the other dead. When she lands in a foreign country, Viola dresses as her brother and adopts the name Cesario, becoming a trusted friend and confidante to the Count Orsino. Orsino is madly in love with the lady Olivia, who is in mourning due to her brother's recent death, which she uses as an excuse to avoid seeing the count, whom she does not love.
  • The Vagina Monologues, a benefit for Battered Women's Shelter of Ft. Worth. On February 14th & 15th at 7:00p.m. A $10.00 donation per ticket is requested. All proceeds go to support V-Day.
  • Urinetown: The Musical. From April 29 - May 2, 2009. A terrible water shortage has crippled the Gotham-like town that is the setting for Urinetown The Musical. In an attempt to regulate water consumption, the government has outlawed the use of private toilets. The citizenry must use public, pay-per-use amenities owned and operated by Urine Good Company, a malevolent corporation run by the corrupt Caldwell B. Cladwell.
