Candidate for Fort Worth Police Chief placed on administrative leave
Arlington city officials placed Assistant Police Chief Mark (Steve) Chaney on administrative leave on Sept. 12, before he was named (this Wed., Sept. 17) as one of six finalists in the search for a new Fort Worth police chief.
Why? Arlington civic leaders aren't saying. (And neither is Asst. Chief Chaney, who didn't mention his forced leave-taking to the Fort Worth folks in charge of selecting their new chief.)
The six finalists for the Fort Worth Chief's position include interim chief Patricia Kneblick, and if you ask me she might be the right one for the job: as a graduate of Transylvania University - or "Transy," as it's fondly referred to - she must have plenty of experience staking stuff out.
