Fort Worth-based Push Comes to Shove ballet company sets upcoming performances

For the life of me, I'll never know how ballerinas can do this.

Push Comes to Shove, a non-profit contemporary ballet company based in Fort Worth, Texas announced today four upcoming performances. The company will perform at Jazz By The Boulevard in Fort Worth, the Curtain Call Dance Festival in Garland and at Ed Landreth Hall in Fort Worth.

The company will perform at Jazz By the Boulevard on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. on the UT Arlington Heritage Stage. In addition, Push Comes to Shove will take the stage twice during the Curtain Call Dance Festival, concurrent with Dance Council Honors, on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at 2:30 p.m., both at the Granville Arts Center. Lastly, the company will perform on Nov. 23, 2008 at Ed Landreth Hall on the campus of Texas Christian University at 7:00 p.m.

Under the direction of Wil McKnight and Sacha Senisch, Push Comes to Shove made its debut in June 2007. The 501-C3 non-profit company consists of 11 dynamic and highly skilled dancers who perform a repertoire of original pieces including classical, neoclassical, contemporary, and aerial works. Push Comes to Shove offers education programs that have included two Summer Intensives and a Master Class taught by nationally renowned teacher and choreographer Thom Clower.

“Wil and I have been working on Push Comes to Shove for more than a year now,” said Sacha Senisch, director and co-founder of Push Comes to Shove. “We see the opportunity to dance at the Jazz By The Boulevard and the Curtain Call Dance Festival as a giant step in the right direction for our company to continue to create awareness of our ballet company among Fort Worth citizens interested in the arts and entertainment.”
