Hurst registered sex offender, rapist committed suicide
Gary Lynn Brown, 43, was found on Thursday after he committed suicide in his back yard shed in Hurst. Brown, who served time for kidnapping and sexually assaulting two young girls when he was 19, had also been questioned this week about a possible connection to four rapes dating back to 1997. After police learned of Brown's suicide, they were able to use DNA evidence to confirm his guilt in the four rapes.
Brown left a suicide note indicating that he did not want his family involved in such issues.
