Famed Dallas judge Barefoot Sanders died on Saturday

Uniquely named judge was best known for imposing desegregation order on Dallas Independent School District.

— U.S. District Judge Barefoot Sanders, best known for helping to desegregate Dallas schools, died Sunday of natural causes at his home; he was 83.

He took over the school desegregation case in 1981, and was often the target of hostile phone calls and letters.
