Fort Worth to consider another gas well site and change the name of Pier 1 Place
The Fort Worth City Council will be meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the usual place. This week's agenda will include:
- Consideration for a permit allowing Chesapeake to put a gas well at 1093 Oak Grove Road within 600 Feet of Carter Park. This public hearing is continued from a previous meeting and will include the usual reports by city staff and citizen presentations.
- This week the city will be authorizing the purchase of: a security system for the municipal parking garage, lawn equipment for the Parks and Community Services department, and passenger vans for the police department. (Can we say paddywagon?)
- The council will also be voting to change the name of the street "Pier 1 Place" to "Energy Way." I'm guessing this will pass, it seems like bad "juju" to keep a street named after a company that folded.
- The council will be voting on the authorization of agreements for general city upkeep (ie: pedestrian and street scape improvements in the Hemphill/Berry Urban Village area, a storm water system, pavement construction and a sewer main, etc).

GregFW, says:
Energy Way? HaHaHa HaHa Ha! Like changing back to "Summit" wouldn't be good enough? "Cow Town" is on its way to being "Clown Town" at this rate. Oh well, at least it's funny!
