Woman pushed out of vehicle on Dallas North Tollway
The woman had accepted a ride home from a stranger.
A woman accepted a ride home from a stranger after Addison's Oktoberfest over the weekend, when the driver started making advances. When she refused him, the driver got mad and pushed her out of the vehicle near the Park Lane exit on the Dallas North Tollway. The woman was not hit by oncoming traffic and survived the accident.

I saw they captured video of the incident on the news from a tollway camera. Were they able to identify the car and go after the freak that shoved her out?

Watching the video again, it appears she may have jumped out of the car, Its a theory im willing to stand behind. If you watch how she comes out of the car, it appears that first she wasnt wearing a seatbelt, which would've prevented her from falling out. Then, the way the door opens and the way she came out, it doesnt look like she was shoved, but instead opened the door herself and jumped. Lastly, watch how the door closes, if someone eles opened/closed it (across the car), they more than likely didnt have the armreach or ability to both open and close the door at that high of speed (at least 40-50 MPH) coming off that exit ramp.
Think about it: If this horndog was coping a feel, how would you encompass three moves (unbuckle a belt, open a door, push out a person) with the rate of speed and direction the car was going..

Okay, Chris, let's suppose your theory was correct -- that would still make whatever the guy was doing so horrific that the girl decided she had to jump from the car. It would change the story somewhat, but would still put the blame squarely on the guy driving the car, don't you think? So, even if what you say is true, the girl is still the victim.

Alex, I agree, its a respect issue. But, we need to make sure not to rush to judgement. If capt. horndog was trying to get his jollies off with a drunk 19 yr old who said no, thats one thing. Accusing someone of vehicular assult due to someone elses actions is a complete other issue.
Think about it: The guy was prolly slightly buzzed at the time(as both were coming from oktoberfest), he met a hot girl who was in a similar state. He tried to make a move, she said no, then she tried to leave the scene in the worse way possible. He ran, scared out of his mind and is prolly lurking somewhere in the Dallas area as we speak. If this guy does turn himself in, I hope he can get a just and proper trial in a court of law, not the court of public opinion.

Methinks it's a bit presumptuous to assume she was wearing a seat-belt.
Also, it's not like she closed the door herself. I bet resistance against the wind even at 30 mph would help the door shut well enough.
And I'm not really seeing how it looked like she jumped. I'd think if you were intentionally exiting a vehicle, you'd brace for impact and roll. Looks to me she almost went down head first and her legs got tangled in the door frame.
It's not that difficult to reach across the passenger side of a car that size, either. Gonna have to firmly disagree with the notion that she jumped.
Unless she's Swedish: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/76...

Teresa and everyone else hereafter: You're not getting an argurment from me on that, He should've stopped and rendered aid even if it was/wasnt his doing with her performing the egress from the car. Im taking the 3rd party approach at this situation and viewing it from a purely science/physics point of view.
Call it the "Mythbuster" angle of my personality, I like to look at the individual parts of the situation and put it together as either a plasuable outcome or bust what the person said...from what ive seen so far, Im not convinced of the whole "getting shoved out" angle thats being offered by the local broadcast/print media.

You mean, angle that the young lady is offering and they're reporting? You're effectively saying this chick dove out of a car and is making up stories. Considering vid doesn't implicate at all that she jumped (imo), I'm not sure what you're basing the conspiracy theory on.

Scotty, stranger things have happened, trust me. If this is the case and he did shove her out, it'll come out in a court of justice. I think the right thing to do now is to have this gentleman turn himself in and present his side.

It could have gone either way, but at least in my car, it's pretty easy to unbuckle a passenger's seat belt, open the door, and shove them out in one motion.

Like they say Pavel, if you go into the dealership with your "must haves", you'll get a car you're happy with.

chris, just because strange things happen doesn't take away from the simple explanation holding true in most cases. In fact, that's why strange things are labeled as such.
I think it's been displayed time and time again here on PN that I generally don't accept things for face value if something seems fishy. In this instance, I see no reason to disbelieve this young lady's story.
We need to start one of those TV courts here on Peg, btw. Everytime something controversial comes up in comments, Judge Miko presides over the case and issues a ruling.
