Bass Hall in Fort Worth hires new president and CEO from Dayton, Ohio

0

— Edward P. Bass, Chairman of the Board of Performing Arts Fort Worth, announced on Monday that Dione Kennedy, President and CEO of the Victoria Theatre Association in Dayton, Ohio, has been hired as President and CEO of Performing Arts Fort Worth. Assuming her duties on January 1, 2009, Ms. Kennedy will oversee all aspects of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall and related facilities.

Kennedy’s tenure at the Victoria Theatre Association – which, along with its supporting organization The Arts Center Foundation, owns and operates three theatres in Ohio’s Miami Valley – began as Operations Manager in 1990. Since that time, she has served as Operations Director, General Manager, Managing Director, Executive Director of the Programming Group and, most recently, as President and CEO. In 2005, as President and CEO, Kennedy was the catalyst in combining the strategy, staff, budget and boards of the two organizations, creating a common vision for the performing arts of Dayton.

Kennedy’s responsibilities will include overseeing all business aspects, programming and operations of the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall complex, including Maddox-Muse Center, the Van Cliburn Recital Hall, and the McDavid Studio. She will also serve as the principal representative of the Hall in relations with its resident companies and with the national and international performing arts community.

Performing Arts Fort Worth is the non-profit organization formed to fund, design, build and operate the world-class, multipurpose Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall, considered the crown jewel of a city that boasts the nation’s third largest cultural district. Built entirely with private funds, Bass Performance Hall is permanent home to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Texas Ballet Theater, Fort Worth Opera, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and Cliburn Concerts, as well as its nationally recognized Children’s Education Program. It also hosts special productions of Casa Mañana Musicals, and presents Performing Arts Fort Worth’s “Hall Series.”
