Urban Taco in Mockingbird Station to expand with second branch in Dallas’ Uptown district
DALLAS Markus Pineyro, 26, founder of Urban Taco in Mockingbird Station, is expanding his modern Mexican concept with a second branch to open in Dallas' Uptown district in the spring of 2009.
The new location at 3411 McKinney Avenue (at Lemmon) will feature two floors, a rooftop lounge, and an outdoor patio. The menu will also take a more sophisticated turn, not only offering the contemporary Mexico City street food that has made Urban Taco a local legend, but new dishes reflecting the Acapulco coastline flavor, similar to the cuisine Markus grew up enjoying. The rooftop lounge will also feature a Latin inspired mixology menu, including muddled fresh fruit cocktails with rum, tequila and pisco.
Markus has plans to continue the expansion of his restaurant concept to major markets around the country, possibly to include Phoenix and Los Angeles.
