On Sunday, October 5th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fashion Focused Inc. and Model Citizen Co. proudly presents Vote or Die: Political and Fashion Experience, at The Bone Pavilion in Deep Ellum. This unique afternoon of fashion shows and political networking will offer the public an exclusive first look at some of the most creative designers Dallas has to offer, as well as the sincerity and pride of those who rally each year for this cause.
In addition to live artist performances, Chris Mitchell (representing the Republican Party) and U.S. State Representative Marc Veasey from Texas (representing the Democratic Party) will speak about the importance of voting and participate in a mini debate about their respective party's presidential candidate. Attendees will have the opportunity to register to vote as all registrations have to be postmarked by October 6, 2008 to vote in this year’s national election.
The “Vote or Die” concept was originally created during the 2004 presidential election year by hip-hop mogul and fashion icon Sean "P.Diddy" Combs. Combs believed young people needed a serious catch phrase/movement in order to understand the importance of their right to vote. D’Andrea “Di Di” Payne and Thelma Mitchell feel the same way; therefore they are taking that philosophy and molding it into something that will get the young, the old, the proud together.
The Vote or Die: Political and Fashion Experience will be hosted by rising music/entertainment executive Vincent “Young Heartbreak” Tucker. Besides being the founder of CWC Entertainment Group, L.L.C., Mr. Tucker is a promoter, event host, radio personality, entrepreneur & philanthropist. Featured in numerous media outlets this year alone, Tucker is the host of the syndicated online radio program, The Vincent Tucker Radio Show, public relations executive for D210 TV, Dallas/Fort Worth street team leader for Rock the Vote!, & and the founder of his own non-partisan voter registration campaign, Register To Speak Out!™.
“We are extremely excited to bring this event to fruition and thrilled to have all the state representatives, teens, adults and fashion experts involved,” says Ms. Payne. “Thelma and I have been planning this event for almost a year and are excited to finally deliver a program that will deliver commercial success for our participating designers and market place as well as bring entertainment value to the political process.”
The Bone Pavilion is located in the Deep Ellum Entertainment District at 2724 Elm Street , Dallas , Texas 75226. Taking place from 3 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, October 5th, Vote or Die: Political and Fashion Experience is a free event.
