If you're looking for something to do on Thursday, it's time for the Dragon Street First Thursday event again, where area galleries stay open until 8:00 for an impromptu, neighborhood gallery walk. There is also an Art Social at CADD Art Lab, featuring a conversation with Susan Kae Grant and Dornith Doherty, whose work is currently featured in the exhibition Flash: Photography from Dallas Galleries.

The Deep Ellum Arts Festival is the big event this weekend, which is free with three days of art booths, activities, beer and bands. (The beer is not free.)

If you are looking to check out some opening receptions, 500X is opening Guardrail Damage Ahead, a mixed media show by Tim Best and Eric Blake. Sun to Moon Gallery is opening an exhibit featuring images of the Great Trinity Forest and the Trinity River. Cerulean Gallery is also opening Transient Beauty, featuring artwork by Autism Treatment Center's (ATC) children and adults with autism. 100% of the proceeds of the ATC artwork will be donated directly to ATC. So it's art for a cause!

This is also the last weekend to see George Segal's Street Scenes at the Nasher Sculpture Center. They are starting their Saturday Night in the City events this month as well, so you can get a two-for-one if you go to check it out Saturday night.

Know of any art events we should have mentioned? Tell us about them in the comments section below.
